At The Half Moon, we don’t really have "customers"—we just have friends we haven't met yet! As a family-run free house for over 30 years, we pride ourselves on being a true local hub where the atmosphere is relaxed, the fire is (usually) roaring, and everyone is welcome.
Whether you’re stopping by for a pint after a long hike or joining us for our renowned Sunday Carvery, you can expect quality, home-cooked food and a smile.
Families & Furry Friends: We are fully family and dog-friendly! While we keep our dining room dog-free to ensure a comfortable space for everyone to eat, your four-legged companions are more than welcome in the bar area.
Stay Connected: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the pub—perfect for planning your next trail or sharing photos of the Dales.

We are tucked away in the beautiful locality of Fellbeck, right in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, we are the perfect base camp for your adventures:
Step Outside: Enjoy short circular walks to the stunning Brimham Rocks or a breezy stroll across the moors.
Pateley Bridge (3 miles): A charming town home to "England's Oldest Sweetshop," quirky antique stores, and local museums.
The Great Outdoors: Nidderdale is a cyclist’s paradise. If you're feeling adventurous, we can help arrange cycle hire, clay pigeon shooting, or fishing.

If you’re staying a while, there is so much to see within a short drive:
Harrogate (12 miles): Famous for its spa history, beautiful Valley Gardens, and of course, a cheeky afternoon tea at Betty’s.
Ripon (8 miles): A tiny city with a massive heart. Explore the ancient Cathedral, the Police and Prison Museum, or the nearby UNESCO site of Fountains Abbey.
Skipton & York: Both offer a deep dive into history, from Skipton’s medieval castle to York’s iconic Minster and cobbled "Shambles."
